Google is a technology company owned by Alphabet. In 2015, Alphabet was created as a holding company for many of Google’s properties. Google does not directly call the majority of small businesses. They do send mailers promoting their products, such as Google Ads. If you have an ad account with Google, the person calling you most definitely could be a Google employee. However, fraudulent companies call small businesses all the time and misrepresent that they work for Google.
