You may have heard of a new app called TikTok; it’s taking over the social media space. TikTok is a new social media platform oriented for a teen to young adult demographic. 60% of all U.S. users are between the ages of 16 and 24 but older-aged users are growing quickly. It’s entirely video content, where users can endlessly swipe to watch short videos created by other users. Normal content on the app includes lip sync videos, collaborative comedy skits, professional aesthetic videography, dance videos, and an endless list of genres. The app was seen as a replacement to “Vine,” which was deactivated by its owner, Twitter, in 2016. As of now, the TikTok advertising network is in beta, but a full-service advertising capability is expected to be coming soon.
